The mission of the St. Kizito Foundation is to respect and promote the value of human life by nurturing and shaping the future of East African youth with difficult backgrounds. St. Kizito believes and upholds the values of honesty, respect, acceptance, transparency, and cooperation. We accomplish our mission through activities such as providing funding for education at all levels, including tuition, room, and board; by providing means for counseling and psychological healing; by providing for basic life needs such as food, shelter, and medicine; and by growing in solidarity with those we serve through prayer, communication, building strong relationships, and promoting cultural understanding.
In working toward this mission, scholars supported by St. Kizito include cases from backgrounds such as:
St. Kizito focuses its mission on three primary functions:
Educational and Life Assistance
St. Kizito hopes to empower vulnerable persons affected by conflict, HIV/AIDS and other social problems through education to realize and make use of their full potential as human beings so as to live a productive life.
Solidarity and Global Awareness
St. Kizito strives to create a bond of friendship and solidarity that reaches across the world in support of the human dignity of every person.
St. Kizito Counseling Centre
The Centre provides a place for our scholars to assemble in community for various activities and instruction sessions. Here, our children learn about responsibility and accountability, and also are taught handicrafts that can help support their schooling. The Centre is also the place where counseling is offered, families are reunited, and culture and faith are held in high esteem.
